Counselling
Can counselling help you?
A Message from Julie
"As a counsellor and psychotherapist I believe we all have the capacity to grow as individuals and lead happy and fulfilling lives. I also believe that maintaining good relationships starts with having a good relationship with ourselves."
My clients often tell me that they feel “stuck”; they keep comparing themselves to others around them and believe they are “not achieving enough”. When people feel this way their relationships and enjoyment of life suffer and this can even lead to depression.
These feelings are very common. They might be familiar to you. You might be feeling an underlying feeling of sadness or dissatisfaction, but without knowing what is causing it. Together we can work to identify what may be triggering these feelings and help you move towards a more positive and happier life.
In my counselling and psychotherapy practice I use an integrative approach; these include person-centred counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy and psychodynamic therapy. My approach particularly suits people who would like to understand themselves better, as well as those who want to tackle any personal, emotional and relationship problems.

A message from Rachel
I work in the NHS and in private practice at Inside Performance in Thames Ditton, and in London W1, offering both short-term counselling and longer-term psychotherapy. I see couples as well as individuals.
The most common problems I come across are depression, anxiety, addiction, bereavement, work-related problems and relationship issues. We all instinctively know that talking our problems through helps us when we are distressed. Most people need to process their feelings, and it helps to talk, think and even dream about them, sometimes over and over again. Therefore it is most helpful to do this with a trained listener who can help you gain new self-awareness and insight so that you can move forward with your life more quickly.
I am a fully-qualified integrative psychotherapist, meaning that I bring together certain aspects of different psychotherapies that I believe work better together, including person-centred, humanistic, psychodynamic and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy).
