Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a fascinating and frequently misunderstood subject. It's not the submissive state that many people think it is from movies, stage shows and misinformation.

It can help relax your body and mind and help you to control unwanted negative thoughts and emotions, and can build states of confidence for things such as passing exams, performing on the stage or in orchestras, going to job interviews or public speaking—all these and more are areas that hypnosis can help with.

Other areas where hypnosis interventions have been successful are with child birth, weight management, motivation for exercise and physical activity, breaking unwanted habits, insomnia, sport performance, stop smoking sessions, fear of public speaking, phobias...

...in fact hypnosis can be used in many areas and ways to allieviate some of the unwanted behaviours and feelings that many people may experience at some point in their lives.

Today, hypnosis is a frequently used and respected technique in Dentistry, Medicine and Psychiatry, being recognised by the British Medical Association since 1955, the British Dental Association since 1952 and the Royal Society of Medicine with the formation of a Section dedicated to ‘Medical and Dental Hypnosis’. In addition to the UK, there are many reputed Medical Associations throughout the world recognising and actively using hypnosis, most notably the American Medical Association, who adopted a policy statement recognising hypnosis as a useful and legitimate treatment for both Dentistry and Medicine.

Because we're all different, it's probably best to speak to someone confidentially about the area you would like to work with. You can either ring us on 020 8398 2127 or drop us an email at alison@inside-performance.com asking for a hypnotherapist to call you back.

We will give you an honest opinion about whether we feel there is someone here who can help you, and if we can't, we'll do our best to recommend someone who can. We adhere to the code of ethics of the British Society of Clinical Hypnotherapy and the British Psychological Society so you can be assured that your call will be treated with respect and confidentiality at all times.
